AW13

Seems like AW13 is full of fashion that is a bit ‘different’, be ready to see the shops fill with lots of tartan, pvc leather and electric blues. Shapes to look out for will be the ever favourite bomber jacket and drop waist, a-line or layered skirts. Be sure to stock up on milkshake colours such as pink blush and if you’re feeling brave throw in a bold red or an electric blue to your wardrobe and you won’t go wrong! If you’re eager to get in winter gear already there is going to be a load of brown and black to be bought as well, so don’t be afraid to visit your dark side…

AW13 is all about being edgy and major prints are going to a big hit, move well away from anything minimalistic and make sure you stand out. Leopard and other animal prints were even given the heads up. The powerful woman is the new sexy, striking high necklines and long length skirts are going to tell a story of independence and power.  If you’re not up for the slick cut blazers and pin straight trousers then you can opt for couture grunge. Who wouldn’t want to be slouching around feeling all comfortable whilst still looking sophisticated and fresh off the catwalk!? Big jumpers with textured knits are a god send.

Vinyl is taking over with pvc leather available in all sorts of colours. This is not Britney Spears style tacky pvc bodysuits, this is head turning sex appeal in beautiful dress shapes. Finally for the autumn brrrrrr… comes the snuggly fur. Make it BIG, it’s going to be taken to a new level.

  1. While I agree with the high necklines and long skirts, I thought personally that the colours for AW13 were dominated by Navy, black, burgundy and a little bit of purple! A lot of the catwalks also took inspiration from the church (Valentino, McQueen, Dolce and Gabana, Givenchy and J.W Anderson) I also am majorly raving about the grunge style that was very prominent on the Saint Laurent catwalk. Do you the you could do a blog about outerwear? X

    • This was posted a while back and was after I had collected high resolution images for AW13 in a fashion magazine where I was attending work experience, the magazine was aimed at high street fashion and you are talking about very high end brands. What would you like me to blog? :) thanks for your feedback x
